Conesus Lake Stream Remediation
  • Conesus Lake Stream Remediation

    Teaming with Barton & Loguidice, P.C. to remediate and stabilize streambank areas around Conesus Lake for Livingston County. Restoration and stabilization of streambeds around Conesus Lake was identified as a high priority recommendation in the Conesus Lake Management Plan. The intent is to help minimize the effects that erosion and sediment from unstable streambanks has on water quality and the recreational and aesthetic aspects of the lake.

Vischer Ferry
  • Vischer Ferry Nature & Historic Preserve

    Teaming with Barton & Loguidice, D.P.C., the Gateway and Accessibility Improvements Project will enhance the Preserve’s Ferry Road gateway to help establish a welcome first impression of the Preserve for visitors entering from local roads or the expanding system of local trails. In addition to that, improved site accessibility for disabled persons, enhance recreational opportunities, provide waterfront access for boating and fishing, provide a pedestrian bridge crossing connecting Clute’s Dry Dock to the original 1825 Towpath, and expand educational, wayfinding, and interpretive facilities and signage.

  • Alexander Outdoor Classroom

    Coordinated the design and construction of the first certified “Nature Explore” outdoor classroom in upstate New York. This outdoor classroom will facilitate nature study and outdoor instruction for pre-K through 12 students in the Alexander Central School District. Click here to learn more!

Lower Buffalo River AOC Wildlife Surveys
  • Lower Buffalo River AOC Wildlife Surveys

    Teaming with Applied Ecological Services to conduct wildlife surveys along the Buffalo River in Buffalo, New York as part of the Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper’s Lower Buffalo River Area of Concern project. Project goal is to generate baseline data regarding species richness and abundance for mammals, reptiles, and birds within the Lower Buffalo River AOC (Area of Concern) and provide a standardized and repeatable protocol for future biological sampling within the AOC, per the Buffalo River Remedial Action Plan.     Working with New York Green ( to develop and implement a sustainability planning initiative in Genesee County, NY. The goal of this endeavor is to ensure a high quality of life in Genesee County by advancing ecological, economic, and societal interests together, using a community supported, science-based framework. The end product will be a user-friendly tool that guides sustainable development.

Wetland Delineation
  • Wetland Delineation

    Conduct wetland delineations in accordance with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers regulations. Assess soils, vegetation and hydrology to locate wetlands on sites. Assistance with jurisdictional determinations and wetland permitting.

SWMF Natural Resource Management Plan
  • Development Authority of the North Country Permitting and Natural Resources Management Planning

    Coordinating a team of Authority staff, engineers and legal consultants to permit expansion of an existing landfill. This includes the US Army Corps of Engineers and NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation Joint Permit Application process and State Quality Environmental Review (SEQR). Working directly with Authority staff to develop and implement a natural resources management plan to provide stewardship of the facility and its surrounding lands to maximize ecological value and provide important habitat for wildlife and compatible recreational and educational opportunities for people.

  • WNY Science, Technology, Advanced Manufacturing Park (STAMP) - Genesee County Economic Development Center

    Serving on a team of design, engineering and environmental consultants to design a 1,000+ acre park integrating natural resource conservation, inventory and analysis of existing natural resources, avoiding and minimizing aquatic resources, and developing watershed-based mitigation strategies to compensate for unavoidable impacts.

  • Western Lake Erie Coastal Marsh Restoration

    Work with a team of engineers and Detroit Edison staff to design and implement a 200-acre coastal marsh restoration project to compensate for potential impacts along western Lake Erie.

    Provide site review and documentation of existing conditions, ecological communities, wildlife, conservation priorities, and restoration opportunities to support land trust evaluation and documentation of fee title or easement protection sites in support of their land conservancy strategy.
